Sydney Carton cares about nothing

     Sydney Carton is tired of himself and his life, and he is tired of everything because he cannot find any value of himself. He works with Mr. Stryver and he does all the work even though he is just an assistant. He doesn’t care whether he is actually doing the work for Mr. Stryver since he doesn’t care about anything. He said that "I am a disappointed drudge, sir. I care for no man on earth, and not man on earth cares for me."
     He feels regret about himself everyday and he finds himself worthless on the earth until he sees Darnay. They look alike but they are just so different. he asked Darnay that if he thinks they look particularly alike. It seems that Carton wants to live like Darnay. He doesn't want to live the way he is living. He wants to change, but he just doesn't know how to change. He finds Darnay who has set a great example for him, which makes him find the thing has fallen away from. However, he is still struggling. He doesn't know what he should do.
